Get all Socky

We love socks. Okay some don't but go have fun with your feet this season. Protect them from callus, sun and dryness. Make them look pretty this season by investing in something cute or sexy.

Socks don’t have to be stripes or polka dots. Every sock is a canvas that we can use to express how we are feeling.

I usually buy mine from Tabio:

Trend alert 2013

2013’s hottest fashion trends

The spring/summer designs showcased on the catwalks of London, New York, Paris and Milan are starting to filter down. Today we will talk about the trends that I will be following:

Asian
Think Far East when decking out this year’s wardrobe. From kimono-inspired dresses to silk wraps made for Bangkok nights (Even kimono style saree)

Also, bright prints, hibiscus flowers and mix Desi jewelry with jersey tops.
Make East meet West this year. Remember It’s about a balance of texture and toughness.

Flower power gives fashion a swinging sixties twist         Go Kimono! It's all about Far East inspiration

Stripes and Checkerboard

Sixties graphic prints like stripes and checkerboard or squares were huge on the spring runways. Most notable were the Marc Jacobs
and Louis Vuitton shows, both designed by Marc Jacobs. Strong prints were sent down the runway in all silhouettes, from gowns to minis to suit sets. Also, stylishly demonstrated by Karl Lagerfeld.

Chessboard chic has never been so fashionable. The best way to integrate this into your spring wardrobe is piece by piece. A strong jacket or blazer pairs well with a dark jean or cropped pants goes well with a classic button down or a super soft t-shirt in black or white.  You can keep your whole outfit graphic and on trend without turning into an optical illusion!

Bombers & Cropped
A bomber jacket is a wardrobe staple. We love them teamed with slim-cut leather trousers.

Chanel showcased a beautiful array of cropped jackets and short shorts and Zara have been quick to follow suit, so you can get leggy for less.

Meet bedroom boudoir.
Lace was huge on the runways for spring.  Valentino, Giambattista Valli, Bottega Veneta, Victoria Beckham and Burberry were some of the best examples. It is definitely a return to delicate, feminine dressing.  I love the idea of lace detailing on skirts, pants and coats. Lace tops are great to pair with a structured blazer to offset the sweetness.

Iridescent
Metallic and “oil slick” finishes splashed the catwalk. Everything is going futuristic, holographic and dazzling. Make like Burberry and embrace high sheen.

Luxe cuff
The latest accessory trend is the solid stylish metal cuff. If you’re feeling more adventurous, studded, embellished jewels pimp up the arm candy.
The Luxe cuff, just like Topshop's offering, glams up any outfit

Red alert
Red is the new black. It’s time to swop that LBD for an LRD. Tone it down with a neutral pair of peep toes.

LRD is the new LBD for spring/summer 2013

Sixties
The swinging sixties was the flower power-loving decade that underpinned the catwalks. From Louis Vuitton’s fun colours to Gucci’s Hitchcock. Moschino reminded us why flower power was so hip in the swinging sixties, so 2013 is the perfect time for blooming. So take a trip back in time.

Fashion is taking a trip back in time this season

Yellow
It was THE color on all the catwalks and one that Hollywood stars have firmly established as a favorite.

Miranda Kerr

P.S. I'm still hooked on neon. I have invested in hot pinks, grass greens, burnt orange and cobalt blue.
Try to go for 'less is more' this season when it comes to make-up. Think primer, primer, primer and clever contouring and BB creams.

Facial Mask and Scrub

I love a good pampering session. Even if I am being extremely lazy I take out time and whip up a mask of my own. You all should too. Boy or Girl, Mama or Papa taking out time to take care of your self it very important.
Everyone is the best judge of their own skin type. You know what you like and what suits you best. (Peeling masks and I don't get along (¬o¬)

For facial mask there is no need to get all fancy spansie! Go natural! We all have something at home that is organic ..Some kinda fruit, veg, yogurt ...USE!

I know a gazillion types of face mask. Some rocked my skin others well..... It's always herbal and my skin does get cleaned up but sometimes that magic doesn't reflect on my skin. By the Grace of Almighty nothing has ever gone wrong.

I'll be telling you a lot of homemade Masks and Scrubs but you all have to try them.

Listen, everyday cleansing is a must and scrubbing 2ice a week or at least once a week is required (Remove that dead skin).

This week try the rice mask. Some of you already know others would like WWuhhh!! Rice. Yes Rice! I will not be mentioning a brand but it sell its rice mask at a very high price.I did use it and it's as good as the one I make. Rice is still used as the key ingredient for some of the most popular Asian skincare products today and it's not a surprise at all because there's just so many skin benefits from using rice as a beauty agent.

This mask can be applied different ways.

After washing, apply desired amount onto face, focusing on nose area while avoiding eye and mouth areas. Wait 10 to 15 minutes, and then wash off with warm water.

You will need Rice

1 cup of rice.

1st Type:

Use 3 tbsp of rice and grind it finely.
Sieve if you think it's grainy.

Now mix it with 3 tbsp of milk you can even add honey.

Apply mask for 15 mins, wash and moisturize.

If you grind it to grainy bits you can mix it with honey and turn it into a scrub.

2nd Type

I cup of rice add 2 cups of water and let it sit for 15 mins. Stir for 1 min. Then drain your rice and put the water in the empty container.

Take a cotton pad and use that water as a toner and ever as a moisturizer.

If you want to go for a mask you will need a paper towel or Kleenex and make holes for eyes, nose and mouth. It should look like this:

It should look like this unfolded

Fold it and dip it in rice water. Squeeze excess and apply.

N.B. Sometimes when my skin is really dry so I add moisturizer.

What my friend does is that she make bigger holes around nose and mouth and sleeps in.

After using this you will find you skin brighter softener,
Clearer complexion, and reduced dark spots/acne scars. xxox

Twin Plait ◔‿◔

Before the weekend hits practice this style and hit the road. I did this style and was stopped on every corner.

By now I think every one knows how to do a fish plait.

Even if you don't it is really simple.

Then split the hair into 2 sections and braid. Take the outer section, bring over and cross ensuring you keep the same amount of hair in each section as you replace with hair from the opposite section that you have brought across. See easy!
Now the exciting part what you do is divide your hair in to 2 sections and then take 1 section and fish plait then take the other section and fish plait it. Now what you do is that you tow then with one hair tie. You can use small bobby pins to secure any gaps.

Rock this plait this weekend!

N.B. Remember to be creative!! xxox

DIY ◔‿◔

Another DIY!!

We all have left over soda cans. If you don't then try not throwing out one next time.So what do we do with them, we make tea light holders.
Aluminium soda cans are thin, making them easy to cut. know some people haven't had much success and I'll tell you the solution to cut slits onto the cans without ruining them. The trick is to fill them with water and pop them into the freezer for a few hours. Six hours is quite enough for the ice to form before working on the cans. I left one can overnight and it burst open in one split!

We can then cut lines, hammer or pierce holes to form patterns and designs on them.

Use a foot ruler and start to cut out lines 1/2 inch apart and keeping the bottom portion to make a tea light candle holder. I use an ordinary craft cutter for slicing the cans.
You can even hole punches with hearts, flowers, leaves and butterflies or use a plain hole punch to randomly punch designs into the can. Grab your favorite color spray paint and paint the tea light holder. After it dries you will be ready to display your newest candle holder.
Be extra careful when making today’s project.  xxox
