Jora Palette ◔‿◔

South Asian weddings are so full of deep colors that I wanted to bring a little of that to this blog.
Being from Pakistan how can I not? A region where wedding season never ends.

One of the most hardest things is to find that perfect wedding dress and that too in the color that you want.

Personally for me 'Red traditional' bride is game but everyone has their own choice. Some like light & pastel others like glitter, bright and shiny (guilty here!!).

With spring here I thought I'll my share my view on the 2013 color palate. The wedding day is certainly one of those days where you compete with yourself for looking the best. Color plays a huge part. Choosing the right color needs inspiration and Inspiration can come from the most unusual places at times.

Whilst steeping a cup of herbal antioxidant tea I noticed the water acquiring a beautiful raspberry pink tint.  The wheels in my head started turning and I thought of Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel each donned designer wedding dresses incorporating pink, a year after Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon said her "I do's" in a blush-coloured gown. Just the idea of the idea of the blushing bride, and that pink just seems to be a beautiful natural transition of that.

One of my favorite combinations is to add pink to a brighter color and then use a neutral color to balance out the palette. This bride’s coral lengha is blended with several shades of pink and gold embroidery throughout.
(Even tangy orange)

This shade also makes me think of to pomegranate.
Shades of pomegranate, ruby, purple and pink are enhanced by the warmth and splendor of gold.  Bright and bold with touches of soft pale pink and gold or a soft pink palette brightened up with bold pomegranate and purple; the choice is yours. ( @HSY from Pakistan and Tarun Tahiliani nail these colors perfectly ).

Shades of peacock has always been elegant and colorful.  Leave it to nature to create the perfect color harmony of rich blues, amazing greens, royal purple and rich gold.

Water colors are my favorite for reception. A wonderful thing about water colours is that although they are quite bright, they are always translucent, allowing light in all the right places.  You can incorporate a beautiful palette of translucent colors for your wedding.

Also shades of Pale mint and jade green were simply added along with existing shades of plum, purple and pink.

But honestly always go for what you want and what you feel is right for you. Feel beautiful always.

Be your own fashion.
